Being raised in a city filled with walking contradictions led me to natural curiosity to figuring out the not-so black and white qualities and backgrounds of people.

Like a toddler asking “why” a million times a day, I constantly am trying to figure out what makes people who they are and how they have ended up in this moment of their life.

Criminal law allows me to do this exact thing. It is a beautiful combination of academics, creativity and social skills. On the same day, you can be a teacher, a challenger, a storyteller, a translator and a support person. I’m not sure there is anything more rewarding to the 4-year-old me that still wants to know why.
